Kale (Brassica oleracea convar. acephala) is one of the best cover crops specifically for game cover. Once established, it provides both feed and cover. The crop establishes slowly, but continues to grow even under cold conditions. When sown in summer, the crop can produce a considerable amount of winter feed.
